Safari 3.1 on Windows Vista

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Safari is a really cool browser for the Macintosh and the Windows Platform. Along with being a different shade of gray then iTunes, they both look very nice, but i am not here to talk about iTunes. Safari is a very nice browser, that is faster then IE7 and looks nicer then FF3. Safari does have its downsides:

  1. The Tabs you you exit the program with do not come back up when the program crashes.
  2. The menu names are very small, even I an experienced reader have a hard time to figure out what they say.

The upsides to this is:

  1. The browser is faster then most.
  2. This browser has a way better look than most browsers I have seen.
  3. It even has a link to youtube which is perfect for my sister whose computer I am using because my motherboard died.

Overall I believe that Safari is a pretty nice browser that is made by the makers of the iPod, Apple.

Wormux 0.8 For Windows

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Wormux, is an open source game that has open source project characters trying to kill each other by means of shooting, explosions, and many other ingenious ways to kill something. The Wormux 0.8 Weapons

This game has some nice new features such as water that actually moves, the explosions are heard at the time of the explosion and the graphics look nicer.

Over all Wormux has become the new war game which I find is fun to play.

To download go to and download this game for your version.

A Review of Open Office 3.0 Beta

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

This is a review, not a rant. I have been using Open Office 3.0 Beta for a few days now and I have got to say it is one of the nicest word processors I have seen. I even think that it looks better then Microsoft Office 2007! I am not going to say that it is better or worse in any other way because one is final and proprietary and the other is beta and open source. The beta is actually quite nice though it has crashed on me a few times… especially when I am typing some work out on it and try to save. That may have something to do with operating system , Windows Vista, that I have on this computer. All the time I believe that I will be using Open Office, but in the end I just use Microsoft Office because I am waiting until Open Office 3.0 becomes final. When I tried to install Open Office 3.0 Beta in Ubuntu, I had some dependency problems though everything was there and I had that dependency installed. Though for now Open Office will be my testing word processor and I will be using Microsoft Office or my own word processor, ROTE9 (Ryan Orser’s Text Editor 9 though still in beta, but it as not crashed yet. Yes the only problem of Open Office 3.0 Beta is that it crashes a lot, and when I try to recover the work it just comes up with a blank page.

Overall I really like the interface and the speed of Open Office 3.0 Beta. It also works great when you need something for typing notes, though do not try to save anything as that is when all of the crashes seem to happen on my system.
