Civilizations Revolution (Nintendo DS) Review

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Civilizations Revolution is a game from the Sid Meiers Civilization line of products. This time around the games have been released to the game consoles like Nintendo DS, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. There is not a PC version, though I hope that it may come out or have Civilizations 5 come out soon. So with Civilization Revolution there are 14 leaders for 14 civilizations, so as you know there are 1 leader per civilization.

There are a couple of modes: Play now or Play online. I have not been able to play online as my wireless settings are not quite right so I have been playing by myself. I love the campains that you can get to play. I have played the lightning round and the attack of the huns. I have won 2 of 3 games. The first game I lost because I attacked to often and the opponents became great generals. The last 2 games were pretty intense and luckily I won which is pretty hard with a touch interface, well that is what I find.

Anyway this game is not really that bad, though can get a bit boring if you try to figure out how to play. I would give this game a 3/5.

Must Nintendo Make a Mobile Phone?

Hiroshi writes “Earlier this year Engadget uncovered a patent filed in 2001 for a Nintendo cell phone but as we all know, nothing came of it. Now CNET is highlighting the Nintenphone once more, stating that it must be built if cell phone gaming is ever going to get better. Interestingly, CNET Photoshopped a DS Lite with Android and a virtual keypad, and while this probably wouldn’t be what a Nintenphone would look like, I can’t help feeling like the DS would make an awesome phone.”
