This is n update to the how to install iTunes working in Ubuntu. I am now running iTunes in Hardy Heron under Wine.
- You will need to get iTunes 7.6.1.9 which you can download here.
- After you download iTunes 7.6.1.9 install it with wine. (my wine version is: 0.9.57)
- After your installation of iTunes is done go to your wine menu and click on Programs>iTunes>iTunes.
- Go through the steps which you agree with the license agreement, click if you want to keep the files organized with yourself or iTunes will do it for you, it may say that the registry is not working so it needs to be reinstalled ( its just fine) click next and go through until you finally launch itunes and make sure that all of your music is there.
- Yahoo its working.
I hope this helps the average Linux user with an iPod
warning may cause your computer to run slowly.

Hi Ryan
Great Blog you have got here 🙂
Thanks for letting us know how to do this. I have been missing this since I switched from Windows to Ubuntu. I have now succesfully installed iTunes, but my iPod is not visible in iTunes……. The iPod is mounted in /media/IPOD and works great with Amarok. Anybody know how to make the iPod work with iTunes? I would really like to have iTunes syncing my podcasts under Ubuntu.
Regards
Kim
