I have been using my laptop which is not at all Linux friendly. So whenever I have before plugged in a USB device, I have had to restart, and then after I had rebooted, I had only to wait a few minutes before the computer would go and slow down to less than a crawl and then I would have to reboot again. So what I am trying to say is that with Ubuntu Hardy Heron all that was going on in Gutsy, there is none in Hardy Heron. I can plug in a usb drive and it will just load and it really works, which is nice to have when you have an iPod that before only made your computer crawl, just after 5 minutes. So now that all of this works I have been able to use this computer as if none of these problems ever happened.
The only thing that bothers me is when I closed the lid before the screen would not come back and than I would have to restart.
Anyway, thank you for reading.

Same here. 🙂 Although I have the pavillon dv9000 I have lot`s of problems in gutsy. The problem with closing the lid has to do with the fact, that hibernation is not possible. It`s sad to hear that this is still not fixed in hardy. 🙁 I bet this means some more hacking after I upgrade in two weeks.

@Jab:
Great to hear there are others like myself working towards getting HP Laptops to work in Linux. Hopefully the closing the lid will be fixed in the Intrepid Ibex.
