I have been using this preview of Fedora 10 and it is great. I have timed the boot from start to finish and it was on this virtual machine 30 seconds. I believe it is well worth the effort to try this one when it comes out. Empathy the new Instant Messenger for Fedora 10 is great except for a few problems:<\/p>\n

  1. I can log into Gtalk and it works but no MSN Messenger<\/li>\n
  2. There is a problem saying there was a network error… problem was that I logged right into it on Ubuntu 8.10 with no problems or errors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Those are the problems so far. Other applications are not so upto date:<\/p>\n

    1. Firefox is 3.0.2-1 in Fedora 10… I do like Firefox 3.0.2 but there was a security update not so long ago, and I would like to be as secure as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      SO far Firefox is the only application that seems out of date. I am installing updates now so maybe it will fix it.<\/p>\n

      I really like the artwork in Fedora 10 as it brings out the nice colors of blue. I really love blue for some reason which is why in Ubuntu I change the theme to blue. The background is nice and as always it is blue. It looks like it is a star in space.<\/p>\n

      Overall I believe that it is a great upgrade over the last Fedora which I had on my laptop for all of 5 hours as it was not as great as all the people said it was. I will continue to use Ubuntu and I may try out some more distros to see how great they are.<\/p>\n
