SpinRite 6.0 on a School Server

Today I felt well enough to go back to school. During the previous week I had found that the hard drive on a school learning server was crashing. Today I decided I needed to run SpinRite 6.0 to get this one server back up and running. So far it is still on the first of two drives and I am surprised how easy spinrite is to use. It has recovered already 5 or 6 sectors of the disk and is working on a DynaStat Data Recovery at the moment. This should take a day or two at the max and may be worth it as it is a student server to be used to learn networking. I think that the server has working under a lot of stress though it has been off for most of the summer vacation. Though the janitors could have turned off the electricity without shutting down the computers (which of course may be why I am doing this.)

I probably will use this cd on the rest of the schools networking computers. But until the time has come to start the others I would like to thank Steve Gibson from GRC.com as this is going to be a big help in the development of the other students lives which will come after me.

Ryan Orser.
